Job Summary
Set up and operate hand and power tools including shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment to produce customer fabrication orders accurately and on schedule. Align and secure parts, examine workpieces for defects, and measure components to ensure specifications are met. Select and install torches, tips, and filler rods while analyzing engineering drawings and blueprints to plan operations. Fabricate products using aluminum, stainless steel, and other alloys, monitoring processes to prevent overheating or warping. Clean, degrease, and repair defective materials as needed to maintain a safe working environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of industrial fabrication welding experience
- Ability to pass a weld test
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to read and follow blueprints and job specifications
- Basic computer skills
- familiarity with welding tools and equipment
- Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility
- Demonstrated reliable work history
- Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks
