Job Summary
Welding position responsible for manufacturing parts per customer drawings and specifications, including setup, operation, and maintenance of welding equipment (welding machines, spot welder, and robot welder); read blueprints/drawings, prepare fixturing, and strive for zero-defect parts. Involves performing regular maintenance on welding equipment, using manual/power tools to grind parts, and working a second shift schedule (2:30 PM–12:30 AM, Monday–Thursday) with 3-day weekends. Qualifications include High School degree or equivalent (Associates preferred), experience in welding, and AWS certification or potential to obtain it; familiarity with GMWA welding skills, WPS procedures, forklift operation, and ability to work both in a team and independently. Required Qualifications
- High School Degree or equivalent required
- Associates Degree from an accredited welding program preferred
- Experience: 1-year welding experience preferred
- AWS certification or ability to obtain AWS certification preferred
- GMWA welding skills including the setup of weld stations
- Ability to read blueprints/drawings
- Ability to operate a forklift and obtain certification
- Familiarity with WPS weld procedure specifications
- Ability to work in a team environment and/or independently
