Job Summary
Adjust welding equipment settings based on material type and metallurgical properties to produce quality welds. Interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to set up and weld components using appropriate fixtures and tooling. Perform MIG welding on a variety of production parts and assemblies, operating hand grinders and other finishing tools as required. Conduct ongoing visual inspections of workpieces and fixturing to ensure compliance with quality standards and appearance requirements. Identify and communicate quality, safety, or process concerns to appropriate team members while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Collaborate effectively with team members to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives. Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or demonstrated ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations at a high school level
- Experience performing MIG welding in a manufacturing or production environment
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply welding symbols and blueprint requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively within a team environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods during a work shift
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree, technical diploma, or certification from a welding, manufacturing, or skilled trades program
- AWS (American Welding Society) Certification
- Knowledge of metallurgical properties, welding processes, or related coursework
- Advanced MIG welding experience within a production or manufacturing environment
- Experience fabricating products from blueprints and engineering drawings
