Job Summary
Interpret blueprints and sketches to manufacture quality parts by following patterns and paperwork. Produce quality welds using specific cell settings while adjusting to changes in production requirements. Inspect produced parts using basic equipment like calipers and height gauges to ensure accuracy. Maintain a clean and safe work area by adhering to the established clean-up schedule. Clock in and out via computer software while tracking job counts. Follow all safety policies, report hazards immediately, and suggest process improvements to support continuous safety enhancements. Requires at least two years of wire welding and mechanical shop experience; high school graduation or equivalent is required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- At least two years of wire welding and other related mechanical and shop experience
- Ability to understand, follow and issue routine oral and written instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Knowledge of basic Welding
- Basic knowledge of a Welder #2
- Ability to visualize and interpret blue prints and sketches
- Ability to use the basic inspection equipment (calipers, height gauge, etc.) to be able to inspect parts being produced by the individual
- Ability to produce quality welds with the settings the cell was setup with
- Ability to adjust to changes in production requirements
- Ability to acknowledge problems with the welder and be able to get the correct individual involved
- Must be able to use the computer software to clock in and out of work and in/out of jobs along with checking job count
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
