Job Summary
Conduct MIG welding on stainless steel and TIG welding on aluminum in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions. Examine welds for bead size and specifications, inspect finished workpieces for conformance, and repair broken or cracked parts by grooving, scarfing, or filling holes. Read blueprints and drawings, cut metal plates, and operate forklifts or cranes as needed. Clean work areas, load and unload trucks, and assist machinists when required. Perform standard basic machine maintenance and pass employer performance tests to meet certification standards. Schedule includes Monday through Thursday, 5:30am to 4:00pm, with overtime and Friday availability.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Welding Certified
- 4+ years of MIG welding experience on stainless steel
- 4+ years of TIG welding experience on aluminum
- Ability to pass a weld test for MIG with stainless steel
- Ability to read blueprints and recognize welding symbols and specifications
- Knowledge of industry safety practices
- Ability to use heavy machinery, such as forklifts and cranes
- Must be available for overtime including on Fridays
- Must be able to pass a drug and background screen
