Job Summary
Operate welding equipment to fuse aluminum, steel, and galvanneal components while building and assembling finished truck bodies, spending approximately 80% of time on assembly and 20% on welding. Interpret blueprints to deliver precise welds, operate heavy equipment like saws to prepare materials, and perform machine setup and preventative maintenance. Inspect every weld for defects to ensure top-tier quality standards and maintain rigorous safety compliance throughout the production process. This role requires passing a weld test, proficiency in mild steel and galvanneal materials, and at least six months of welding experience or completion of welding school training. Located in Janesville, WI, the position includes a $4,000 bonus and offers on-demand pay. Morgan Truck Body promotes nearly 100% of production leaders from within, starting many in this welder or general laborer/assembler role.
Required Qualifications
- Must successfully pass a weld test to demonstrate skill and quality
- Proficient in welding mild steel and galvanneal materials
- Minimum of 6 months welding experience or completion of welding school training
- Solid grasp of basic math, tape measurement, and computer skills
- Basic experience with hand tools
- Able to accurately understand and apply measurements on the job
- Competent in reading and interpreting blueprints for specialized welding applications
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be available for 1st shift
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- Must be able to walk
- Must be able to use hands to operate tools and equipment with precision
- Must be able to talk and listen as part of a safety-focused, team-driven environment
- Must be able to bend
