Job Summary
Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications while performing service and warranty repairs at customer sites or onsite at the Lithia Springs, GA facility. Conduct inspections, repair engine failures, mechanical and electrical system malfunctions, and replace parts to maintain vehicle functional condition. Perform chassis prep, evaluate hydraulic schematics, and adjust controls while verifying serviceability through test drives. Clean, wash, and paint vehicles; record service and repairs; troubleshoot shop equipment breakdowns; and follow preventive maintenance instructions. Lift 50lbs and work closely with co-workers. Requires 3-5 years of truck or heavy equipment mechanic experience, welding proficiency, and ability to read technical publications.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years' experience as a Truck or Heavy equipment mechanic
- Able to read and comprehend verbal and written instructions
- Able to troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic components
- Chassis prep experience
- Welding experience required
- Proficiency in welding and fabricating
- General mechanical abilities with Diesel Trucks or Heavy Construction Equipment
- Must have good customer service skills
- Ability to lift 50lbs plus, bend, stoop, kneel and climb ladders
- Must be able to work closely with co-workers or other team members
- Looking for the right individuals that show integrity, in self and in their work
Desired Qualifications
- Refuse (Waste Truck) experience is preferred
- Ability to ride in a vehicle for long periods of time
