Job Summary
Supervise and lead daily welding operations to meet production schedules while ensuring all welds meet engineering specifications and company quality standards. Train, coach, and develop welders on safety, quality, and techniques; monitor employee performance and hold team members accountable for attendance and productivity. Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions; assist with welding and fabrication as needed. Identify and resolve production, quality, and equipment issues; ensure employees have necessary tools and materials. Promote and enforce all safety policies and procedures. Work closely with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to improve efficiency. At Big Tex Trailers, lead by example while prioritizing safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement to develop high-performing teams delivering exceptional products.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 5 years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of welding processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings
- Strong understanding of welding procedures, metallurgy, and fabrication techniques
- Experience troubleshooting welding defects and production issues
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and manufacturing best practices
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and manufacturing reporting systems
