Job Summary
Weld Student: Paid welding school course with a 9-week training period (Mon-Fri, 8:00am–4:30pm) in Goose Creek, SC, leading to a full-time welding technician role at $18/hour with benefits. Trainees will learn welding techniques, VT inspection for non-code welding, machine setup, use of grinders and hand tools, post-weld cleanup, and collaboration with senior Weld/Fabricators under the Weld Manager. Pay during the course is $12/hour; after successful completion, transition to full-time at $18/hour with benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a U.S Citizen
- Must be a High School Graduate or GED equivalent
- Must be able to pass VT inspection for non-code welding
- Must be able to set up welding machine with proper weld wire and shielding gas
- Must be able to utilize all hand tools and grinders
- Must be able to use a grinder for proper post-weld clean-up
- Hammers, chips, and grinds work piece to cut, bend, and straighten metal
