Job Summary
Weld Quality Lead on 1st shift responsible for leading the quality team in the Weld Quality department, implementing NDT and weld processes, maintaining technician qualifications, managing WPS/PQR documentation, tracking quality metrics, training and mentoring staff, maintaining calibration and welder certification records, submitting deviations to customer specs, witnessing PQRs and welder qualifications, supporting audits, and performing root-cause analyses to eliminate defects. Requires ASNT Level II in applicable methods, CWI, and 3+ years in manufacturing quality; strong ability to read blueprints/procedures, write inspection reports, and communicate effectively with internal/external customers. Previous leadership and cross-functional collaboration experience is expected.
Required Qualifications
- ASNT Level II in MT, UT, VT
- CWI
- 3+ years’ quality experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blue prints and procedures
- Ability to write inspection reports and procedure manuals
- Strong verbal and written communication in English
- US work authorization (no visa sponsorship)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with NDT and weld processes
- Knowledge of AWS, ASTM-123, and DOT specifications
- Ability to lead root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Experience performing internal and supplier audits
