Job Summary
The Welding Engineer II role focuses on directing weldment operations to meet contract standards, including selecting welding methods, developing parameters, and preparing procedures. Responsibilities include supporting fabrication operations, carrying out process efficiency studies, and troubleshooting welding issues. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering or Technology and 7 years of relevant experience. Candidates should have a theoretical understanding of various welding processes and materials, as well as experience with nondestructive testing methods. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for success.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering or Welding Engineering Technology
- 7 years relevant welding engineer experience
- Theoretical understanding of the gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, shielded metal arc, submerged arc, and stud welding processes
- Theoretical understanding of the welding of ferrous and non-ferrous base metals
- Theoretical understanding of nondestructive testing methods for welds
Desired Qualifications
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification preferred
- Experience in a LEAN environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Strong analysis and problem-solving capabilities
- Enjoys a “hands on” management environment
- Theoretical understanding of welding processes
Additional Requirements
- Candidates must be 18 years of age or older at time of application
- Able to provide proof of US Person Status
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
- No felony convictions of Theft/Deception or Violent crimes within seven years from disposition date
- No felony convictions of Drug crimes within three years from disposition date
- Willing to submit to a drug screen
- Willing to submit to a background check
