Job Summary
Weld Operator on 2nd shift at Maysteel performing MIG welds in an arcwelding environment. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints and gauges, deburring and grinding metal to achieve proper surface texture, starting/stopping arc welding equipment, loading/unloading items, and moving materials on conveyors. Maintain safe work environment, follow routings and manufacturing instruction sheets, and log data in Epicor ERP. Requires basic math and communication skills; high school diploma or equivalent preferred; Arcweld certification recommended. Emphasis on quality conformance to specifications, tool selection, and resource conservation in a manufacturing facility.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience; basic math and communication skills
- Experience with arc welding and MIG welding processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and gauges
- Familiarity with deburring and grinding metal to achieve proper surface texture
- Ability to follow instructions from management and lead, and to log data in ERP systems (Epicor)
- Understanding of safety practices and use of personal protective equipment
- Willingness to perform routine machine setup, load/unload items, and operate conveyors
