Job Summary
Execute a variety of welding processes to fabricate complete parts from different metals and alloys, performing fit-up of accessories and tanks in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions. Identify specific metals such as mild steel, aluminum, and stainless, then use measuring devices to determine thickness and size. Operate an oxygen/acetylene torch for cutting and utilize grinders and power tools to grind, bevel, or fit metals while removing slag. Read blueprints to ensure structure compliance with the Method of Production Standard, maintaining a clean work area and following prescribed safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must demonstrate welding competency through Visual & Fillet break or Radiography testing
- Must be able to successfully perform Flux Core welds
- Must be able to successfully perform Sub Arc welds
- Must be able to successfully perform Gas Metal Arc welds
- Must be able to weld in 1 through 3 Groove positions
- Must be able to safely operate a forklift
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Certification from a trade or welding institute is preferred
