Job Summary
Greet members, staff, and volunteers at the building entrance and exit, learning names to foster connection. Promote the Y mission while conveying program knowledge and referring inquiries to appropriate staff. Handle financial transactions, maintain cash till balance, and complete shift closeouts. Monitor facility access, ensure paperwork is complete, and protect member and volunteer confidentiality. Respond to emergency situations per YMCA policy and assist with food and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds. Work Sunday shifts from 6:45 am to 12:00 pm with flexibility to pick up open shifts. Maintain alertness for several hours while standing, sitting, or walking, and attend required trainings outside regular hours.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old
- Current CPR/AED certification or ability to become certified within first 60 days
- Must be able to lift and carry food and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds
- Must have superior interpersonal and communications skills
- Must be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others
- Must have basic math skills
- Must have personal computer skills
- Must have experience with standard business software
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality
- Must have effective conflict resolution skills
- Must be able to work autonomously within the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility
- Must be able to attend required trainings and meets outside of regular work schedule
