Job Summary
Greets members, staff, and volunteers upon entry and exit, actively using names to foster connection. Promotes the Y mission while conveying program knowledge and referring inquiries to appropriate staff. Manages financial transactions, maintains cash till balances, and completes shift closeouts. Monitors facility access, ensures paperwork is complete, and handles emergency situations per YMCA policy. Connects members to activities and volunteers to build community. Responds to inquiries with financial assistance and maintains confidentiality of all member and employee information.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old
- Current CPR/AED certification or ability to become certified within first 60 days
- Must be able to lift and carry food and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds
- Must have superior interpersonal and communications skills
- Must be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others
- Must have basic math skills
- Must have personal computer skills
- Must have experience with standard business software
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality
- Must have effective conflict resolution skills
- Must be able to work autonomously within the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility
- Must be able to attend required trainings and meets outside of regular work schedule
- Must be available to work on Saturday and/or Sunday
