Job Summary
Operate automated truck scales and specialized software to capture tare and gross weights for asphalt and aggregate products. Accurately enter customer data, product codes, and haulage information into the ticketing system to produce official proof-of-purchase documents. Ensure all outbound trucks comply with state-specific legal weight limits and coordinate with plant operators to verify correct mix and tonnage. Direct incoming and outgoing truck traffic, answer customer inquiries regarding pricing and availability, and process cash and credit sales. Research and resolve ticket discrepancies, administer site-specific safety training for visitors and drivers, and maintain meticulous daily records of tonnage and inventory. Work in all weather conditions while maintaining a clean scale house environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or relevant experience
- 1+ years of relevant experience in an Asphalt or Construction-related environment
- Familiarity with heavy equipment or trucking operations
- Familiarity with scale operations
- OSHA Compliance and regulations
- Technical and administrative aptitude (proprietary weighing software)
- Data entry precision
- DOT
- Traffic management
- Product identification
- Effective communication (written and spoken)
- Organized
- Time management
- Must be able to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Required to bend, stoop, climb, and reach
- Must have good depth perception with or without seeing aid for distances up to 150 feet
- Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dbs
- Flexibility and adaptability to evolving job demands
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years of relevant experience in an Asphalt or Construction-related environment is highly preferred
- Familiarity with heavy equipment or trucking operations is a significant plus
