Job Summary
Weighmaster responsible for accurately identifying, sorting, and weighing inbound nonferrous (NF) materials; documenting NF material and supplier information into the ticketing system; providing suppliers with an accurate receipt of NF material; assisting suppliers with required documentation for acceptance of scrap materials; processing payments and maintaining records; completing and submitting required reports; performing general office duties and scale-house housekeeping; working in a fast-paced environment with strong customer service and coordination skills while adhering to Metals Recycling Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years’ experience operating truck scales, preferably in a scrap metal or similar industry.
- Ability to develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with customers and co-workers.
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, good organizational and mathematical skills, basic negotiation skills, and the ability to multi-task.
- Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn industry specific software.
