Job Summary
Weigh trucks loaded with crushed stone and asphalt products, issue weigh slips to drivers, and keep track of material totals for production control. Compute and record tallied figures, examine and sort items, and move tallied items to storage, shipping, or production areas. Take orders from contractors and private customers, dispatch trucks to job sites, and communicate with suppliers, laborers, operators, and supervisors regarding job concerns. Monitor traffic and weather conditions affecting schedules, manage petty cash, and perform other duties as assigned while adhering to MSHA and H&K Safety policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution OR a month of related experience and/or training
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Reliable transportation to travel to regional quarries
- Valid Driver License and good driving record
- Able to work a flexible work schedule
- Attention to detail
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Pre-employment Physical
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in running heavy equipment a plus
- State Weighmaster's license
- Previous scalehouse experience
- OSHA, MSHA, or other relevant safety certifications
