Weekend Youth Volleyball Referee - South Inland Empire

Job Summary
Volleyball Official needed to enforce rules, promote sportsmanship, and act as on-court coach for weekend youth volleyball games in the South Inland Empire. Enforce the i9 Sports rulebook, set up and break down equipment, keep time and score, and provide customer service to players, coaches, and spectators. Assist volunteer coaches during practice, conduct drills, and answer questions. Requires reliable transportation, two+ years of officiating/playing/coaching experience, a proactive, independent work ethic, and ability to handle safety-related situations. Training and development provided. Flexible weekend schedule for approximately 7 weeks. Must be available to work across multiple South Cluster cities (Eastvale, Norco, Corona, Riverside, Chino Hills, Jurupa Valley) with seasonally rotating assignments. Smartphone with internet access and successful completion of a National Criminal Background Check required. Payment is per-game as an independent contractor, with weekly earnings based on games completed.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with players, coaches, and spectators
- Reliable transportation to and from the workplace
- Minimum of 2 years of sport-specific officiating, playing, or coaching experience
- Highly motivated self-starter who can work independently and solve problems
- Demonstrated awareness and ability to take charge of any situation to ensure player safety
- Positive attitude and strong ability to build professional relationships
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends and some evenings, for the full duration of the season (approximately 7 weeks)
- Must have a smartphone with internet capability
- Successful completion of a National Criminal Background Check is required
