Job Summary

Conduct daily rounds on assigned units to observe, examine, and interview residents, verifying information from the previous shift and monitoring regulatory compliance. Provide resident care by developing care assignments, monitoring task completion, administering medications, and recording vital signs, food intake, and output. Assist with care plans, communicate care matters to residents, physicians, and families, and train new staff through orientation and skill observation. Maintain proper documentation of care services, assessments, and incidents, while reporting relevant information to the Director of Nursing regarding compliance issues and staffing needs. Participate in survey processes, ensure employee and resident safety through drills and incident reporting, and carry out responsibilities in compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Directly supervise other nursing personnel, including interviewing, hiring, training, and addressing performance or complaints.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Licensed in appropriate state as a RN or LPN
  • Graduate of nursing program
  • Must have or be willing to get a COVID-19 vaccine
  • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from residents, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to speak, understand and read the English language to the extent necessary to safely and properly care for residents
