Weekend Shift Machine Operator - Die Cast - GL (37870)

Job Summary
Operate die cast machines, trim presses, and related equipment while performing basic quality checks and documenting performance hourly. Diagnose minor repairs on die cast and trim press machines, robot gripper systems, and hydraulic leaks; pull and set slides; and maneuver panel view auto trim presses. Visually inspect for defects, enter data into production software, and report faulty equipment or unusual conditions to supervisors. Maintain clean work areas, complete daily paperwork, and adapt to frequent job duty changes across multiple machines. Work overtime as required and follow all safety regulations in a loud, non-climate controlled environment.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of basic math, reading, and writing
- High School Diploma
- Basic computer skills
- Possess good physical stamina and coordination
- Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to read standardized work instructions, operate machines and tools, and perform quality inspections
- Ability to promptly detect and respond to visual and auditory safety instructions, alarms, and signals
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, long-sleeves, and steel-toed safety shoes
- Ability to work in a loud manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled (conditions can be hot or cold)
- Ability to bend, push, pull, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach to perform work
- Ability to lift or carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds and periodically care or lift materials weighing up to 50lbs
- Ability to use hand positioning to grip/grasp devices such as hoists and a wide range of power and vibrating tools or other equipment
- Ability to ascend and descend steps, stairs, and platforms
- Ability to recognize potential exposure to mechanical, chemical, electrical, and explosive hazards
- Ability to work overtime hours as required and be available for emergency overtime when the need arises
- Ability to regularly report for work on time with a desire to perform to the best of your abilities
- Ability to learn new tasks and adapt to frequent job duty changes which includes cross training and working on multiple machines as required by business and manpower demands
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team environment
- Ability to maintain clean and orderly work area consistent with safety and work rules and regulations
- Ability to work safely around and/or while operating heaving equipment or manufacturing machinery
- Ability to communicate and exchange problem areas with supervisors and fellow coworkers
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma preferred
- Lock Out/Tag Out experience preferred
- Crane experience preferred
