Job Summary
Set up, operate, and adjust laser cutting equipment using setup sheets and Kanban cards to produce high-quality parts that meet engineering specifications. Load raw steel, unload finished parts, and perform visual inspections of materials and products to ensure quality standards. Read blueprints and process sheets to produce parts accurately, count finished parts, and tag completed jobs with required production information. Report material shortages, quality concerns, or equipment issues to the Lead or Supervisor, and perform routine maintenance while completing daily preventive maintenance logs. Safely operate hoists and manual pallet jacks, maintain a clean work area, and assist with other fabrication activities as needed. Work the weekend shift from Friday through Sunday for 36 hours with four days off, earning competitive pay and benefits including a 401(k) match and on-site fitness access.
Required Qualifications
- Manufacturing experience, preferably in metal fabrication or laser operations
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues
- Ability to read blueprints, process sheets, and tape measures in both standard and metric measurements
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using a calculator
- Basic computer skills and the ability to operate computerized manufacturing equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Lift up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
- Frequently reach, grasp tools and materials, and climb stairs as needed
- Safely operate hoists and manual pallet jacks
- Successfully complete a comprehensive vision examination as required for the position
