Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, assist in supervising nursing services and set care standards to address residents' medical, physical, emotional, and psychological needs. Monitor, evaluate, and organize direct nursing care while making frequent rounds throughout the shift. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to assess, develop, and evaluate resident care plans, utilizing critical thinking to prevent avoidable rehospitalizations. Educate staff on policies and support newly hired personnel. Ensure completion of electronic medical records and documentation. This role requires a registered nurse licensed in Texas and involves flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- A registered nurse
- Licensed and in good standing with the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners in the state of Texas
- Able to effectively communicate w/ the DON, MD, team members, and residents in a way that promotes the best clinical outcomes and enhances continuity of care
- Works cooperatively as a part of the interdisciplinary team to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate resident care plans
- Uses critical thinking process for resident conditions and able to implement interventions to assist in preventing avoidable rehospitalizations
- Monitors completion of electronic medical records/documentation
- Able to educate staff on policies and processes when necessary
- Support newly hired nursing staff
- Have the ability to safely perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
- As assigned, including some weekends, evenings and holidays; non-exempt position
