Job Summary
Provide top-of-scope direct patient care in the Emergency Department, including Level 1 trauma designation and up to and including Level 1 trauma levels. Model proficiency through precepting new healthcare staff and guide individualized specialty education for competency validation. Contribute to secure safety and quality at the point of care while utilizing the nursing process and adhering to BCEN certification standards. Requires state RN licensure, six months of nursing experience, and completion of Trauma Nurse Core Course and Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses. This onsite role involves day and night rotation within the UCHlth Metro Float Pool.
Required Qualifications
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- 6 months of nursing (RN) experience
- Registered Nurse
- Trauma Nurse Core Course
- Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale
- Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years' experience
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
