Job Summary
Direct nursing care activities and oversee Charge Nurse and CNA performance during 7a-3p or 3p-11p weekend shifts. Ensure staff implement resident care plans appropriately, administer medications, and initiate emergency procedures as needed. Review patient records daily, document comprehensive nursing notes, and report significant findings to physicians. Maintain accurate resident care plans and conduct RN assessments while promoting positive relations with residents and families.
Required Qualifications
- current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN or RN in this state
- CPR certified
- one (1) year experience in a hospital, long-term care facility or other related health care facility
- ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- accurate and comprehensive assessment skills
- knowledge of restorative nursing and rehabilitation policies
- ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
- knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long term care
- leadership and supervisory ability
- willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel
- ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care
- patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents
- ability to relate information concerning a resident's condition
- ability to communicate effectively with appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations
- willingness to work weekend shifts
- part-time availability
