Job Summary
Weekend News Anchor for Des Moines, IA in a part-time, weekend-morning broadcast role. Responsibilities include writing, recording, and editing audio for broadcast news stories; writing and publishing news content for web and social media; monitoring sources for breaking news; planning, writing, editing, and voicing news broadcasts; finalizing content with digital audio editing software; maintaining deadlines; and repackaging content for newscasts. Must have excellent writing and editing skills, ability to conduct interviews, strong grammar, and proficient in media production and broadcast systems. 3+ years of on-air journalism experience in smaller markets or college stations and a 4-year college degree are required or preferred; bilingualism is a plus. The position is based in the Des Moines newsroom and cannot be done remotely. Full-time equivalent info indicates part-time hourly pay.
