Weekend Logistics Specialist

Job Summary
Act as the liaison between clients, carriers, and shippers to manage freight movement, ensure on-time pickups and deliveries, and resolve service failures. Develop new business through telemarketing, negotiate rate proposals, and secure adequate capacity for booked freight in your assigned region. Enter load pick-up orders, track loads enroute, and monitor customer activity to maintain lane analysis and on-time performance metrics. Provide after-hours support for critical issues and coordinate with the Regional Director of Operations to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction. Adhere to DOT, OSHA, and company quality standards while supporting Logistics Coordinators as workload demands change.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma
- Minimum of 2 years related experience
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug test
- Professional, clean, neat appearance
- No convictions of serious crimes
- Ability to read and comprehend general instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to read and interpret general business periodicals
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information and speak before groups of employees and outside consultants and respond to questions/comments from the same
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter
- Ability to plan and organize workload
- Ability to handle very detailed information
