Weekend Lead Advocate (Residential)

Job Summary
Lead weekend shifts ensuring continuous shelter coverage and 24-hour hotline support for survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, child abuse, and trafficking. Supervise advocates, volunteers, and interns by enforcing agency policies, managing schedules, and resolving conflicts while maintaining accurate client documentation. Provide direct crisis intervention, safety planning, and emotional support to residents, conducting regular rounds to monitor security and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Respond to emergencies, mediate interpersonal issues, and foster a trauma-informed, survivor-centered environment. Maintain program statistics and complete required reports in accordance with organizational standards.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, child abuse, and neglect
- Experience providing services to survivors of trauma
- Strong crisis intervention, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentation abilities
- Ability to adapt communication styles to meet the needs of diverse audiences and individuals in crisis
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic documentation systems
- Strong organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated active listening skills and ability to build trust with clients and colleagues
- Strong critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments
- Commitment to trauma-informed, client-centered, and culturally responsive practices
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a shelter, residential, crisis intervention, or related human services environment
- Ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend English
- Ability to assess complex situations, exercise sound judgment, and implement effective solutions
- Ability to analyze information, evaluate alternatives, and make decisions in crisis and non-crisis situations
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Ability to ambulate up and down stairs
- Walking throughout the shelter residence and movement between various buildings is required
- Flexibility is required to meet program and staffing needs
- Participation in on-call coverage may be required

Desired Qualifications
