Job Summary
Load machines to proper weight and level, set cycles, and dispense detergents. Sort laundry by color and fabric, pre-soak as needed, transfer items to dryers, fold, stack, and iron. Mend items, distribute personal laundry to patient closets, and clean floors, appliances, and delivery carts. Disinfect work areas, clean dryer vents daily, store supplies properly, and identify safety hazards. Ensure sanitation standards are met and enforce abuse prevention policies. Function as a team leader and role model while attending weekly in-services. This role supports the delivery of laundry services at a Cantex Continuing Care location.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
- Ability to function as a Team Leader/Role Model
- Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Networks Clinical Policies and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employees responsibility to enforce it
- Attends weekly in-services, understands, and complies with Patient Care Management Systems
- Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a long-term care or healthcare laundry department is preferred
