Job Summary
Manage facility census by opening hospital accounts and generating patient referrals for weekend coverage from Friday 5 pm to Monday 8 am. Conduct daily rounds at assigned hospitals to assess high-acuity inquiries, screen residents using formal applications, and obtain prior authorizations for managed care patients. Coordinate patient transitions with case managers and admission directors while developing new referral sources through sales calls to physicians, social workers, and discharge planners. Incorporate the IMPACT sales model to increase overall occupancy and quality mix in assigned centers. On-call rotation includes travel to facilities; compensation includes a $250 weekend stipend plus hourly rates and mileage.
Required Qualifications
- Available and committed to every other weekend
- Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse
- Two years of experience with sales and marketing knowledge
- Strong medical assessment skills
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Must possess strong oral and written communications skills
- Travel is required on weekends worked
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience with an insurance company, private case management company, or HMO
- Familiarity with long term care and/or sub-acute care
