Job Summary
Assist students in life skills, community trips, personal health care, and recreational activities while preparing healthy meals and maintaining a safe, clean environment. Transport students in school vans as needed and document all incidents with effective communication to clients, families, and supervisors. Collaborate with school staff to coordinate support and solve problems creatively. All shifts require staff to remain awake and alert at all times. New hires must be available for regularly scheduled weekend work.
Required Qualifications
- HS diploma
- Bachelor's degree
- undergraduate course of study
- Prior experience caring for children in a residential setting
- autism experience
- Safety Care certification
- CPR certification
- First Aid certification
- Valid driver's license
- pass rigorous background checks, including nationwide fingerprint screening
- good organization skills
- creative problem solver
- ability to document all incidents
- ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, co-workers and supervisors
- ability to be awake and alert at all times
- availability for regularly scheduled weekend work
- working knowledge of Microsoft Word
