Job Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides basic nursing assistance under supervision and helps residents with daily living activities. Responsibilities include answering signal lights to determine resident needs; assisting with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair, and incontinence care; obtaining food trays and assisting with feeding; assisting with range of motion exercises and movement to wheelchair or activity areas; turning and positioning in bed; assisting with ambulation for short distances; and taking and recording vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration) as directed. Strong communication with residents, families, and facility staff is required, along with the ability to react decisively in emergencies and support resident care and comfort. Education: high school diploma or equivalent preferred; Licensure: valid CNA certification in the state of employment. Experience: six months in a long-term care environment preferred.
