Job Summary
Provide direct care to residents under supervision, assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding while monitoring vital signs and intake/output. Support mobility, transfers, and dining services, and document care accurately per facility policies. Engage residents in social activities, maintain clean living environments, and participate in care planning and team meetings. Assist new CNA team members with training and facility orientation. Work weekends, days, evenings, or nights as a part-time role with flexible scheduling. Maintain CPR certification and current CNA or STNA certification; prior skilled nursing experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) in the state you work.
- CPR certification.
- Must be willing to work all weekends
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, stretch, and twist
- Stamina to stand and move about the facility to perform frequent rounds and respond to emergent situations as needed
- Emotional resilience and ability to cope with the physical and emotional demands of working with residents who may have complex healthcare needs
- Capability to lift and transfer residents safely, with proper body mechanics and assistance as needed
- Required vision includes close, vision, distance, peripheral, and the ability to adjust focus
- Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the department supervisor/manager
- The job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress situations
- The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing
- The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position
- The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar medical setting preferred
