Job Summary
Assist the surgeon in the surgical treatment of patients under direct supervision, utilizing interpretive skills and frequent interactive communication. Retrieve, communicate, or present information through written, auditory, or visual formats while applying manual dexterity for surgical tasks. Maintain direct patient care and adhere to Department of Surgery goals, nursing division philosophy, and Medical Staff policies. Requires a Licensed Surgical Assistant by the Virginia Department of Health with three years of operating room experience.
