Weddings & Catering Manager

Job Summary

Respond to inquiries regarding wedding and catering event space availability, conduct follow-up calls, and proactively sell social events. Create and promote unique wedding packages, generate Banquet Event Orders and diagrams, and confirm vendor arrangements while processing payments. Provide event day coordination to ensure seamless execution, build partnerships with banquet teams and vendors, and communicate estimated event revenue to the Director of Conference Services. Meet with wedding clients, group contacts, and meeting planners on-site to deliver personalized service. Work varying schedules including overnight, weekends, and holidays. Minimum 2 years experience as a Weddings and Catering Manager required.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language
  • Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process
  • Must be service oriented and capable of communicating effectively with persons involved in all levels of authority, both internally and externally
  • Must possess basic computational ability
  • Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be able to multi-task and be detail-oriented in a fast paced, high volume environment with minimum supervision
  • Must have ability to work independently and to prioritize or seek clarification in prioritizing work assignments
  • Assertive, self-starter, self-motivator with a high degree of professionalism and accountability
  • Must be a strong team player and able to meet deadlines
  • Maintain a professional working environment and attitude
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Catering and/or Weddings Manager
  • All Candidates must be in possession of identification proving authorization to work in the United States as defined in the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA)
  • Applicants must be legally eligible to work the United States
  • Must be able to multi-task and be detail-oriented in a fast paced, high volume environment with minimum supervision
  • Must have ability to work independently and to prioritize or seek clarification in prioritizing work assignments

Desired Qualifications

  • Working knowledge with Opera and Social Tables is an asset
  • Extensive Food and Beverage knowledge
  • College degree in Hospitality management or related field preferred
