Job Summary
Qualify and solicit existing and new accounts in the wedding and social event sectors through site tours, referrals, networking, and direct outreach. Respond promptly to all inquiries and tentatively or definitely booked business opportunities. Accurately track and report on leads using the assigned pipeline, updating status daily and monitoring conversion rates. Prepare weekly sales activity reports for the Director of Sales. Drive total event revenue by selling, contracting, upselling, and detailing weddings and related social events, including ceremonies, receptions, room blocks, menus, bar packages, rentals, and décor. Produce accurate contracts, rooming lists, and event documentation while collaborating with catering, banquets, culinary, and front office teams. Anticipate and resolve client needs with professionalism and creativity. Represent The Stanley Hotel at showcases, open houses, and industry events. Maintain strong knowledge of wedding trends, destination expectations, and the property's unique offerings. This role balances thoughtful hospitality with strong revenue performance in Colorado's Rocky Mountains.
Required Qualifications
- More than two years of post‐high school education
- One to three years of experience in wedding sales, catering sales, event planning, or a related hospitality role
- Strong knowledge of wedding and social event sales, catering operations, food and beverage service, menu development, and pricing
- Understanding of hotel policies, contracts, and revenue management principles
- Exceptional sales, negotiation, and relationship‐building skills
- Ability to manage multiple weddings simultaneously while maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail
- Confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to guide clients through complex planning decisions
- Creative problem‐solving skills and calm professionalism in high‐emotion, high‐expectation environments
- Proficiency in sales, CRM, and event management systems
- Ability to travel locally for sales calls, site visits, and industry events
- Excellent hearing, vision, and verbal communication skills for interaction with guests and associates
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry items such as chairs, décor, and boxes (up to 50 lbs occasionally)
- Ability to bend, kneel, and move throughout historic indoor and outdoor event spaces
- Mobility to conduct site tours and oversee events, including standing and walking for extended periods (up to four hours)
- Ability to climb stairs and navigate multi‐level historic buildings
- Driving required for off‐site sales calls and events (approximately 20%)
Desired Qualifications
- Destination wedding or resort experience strongly preferred
