Job Summary
Respond to incidents on provincial highways, including traffic accidents, spills, and emergency situations affecting the travelling public. Serve as the primary liaison between provincial and local police, fire, and emergency responders during incident management. Communicate with the Ministry of Transportation Traffic Operations Centre via radio and telephone to provide updates, coordinate detour routes for asset closures, and complete incident reports. Conduct follow-through investigations on fatalities to verify facility compliance and track files on major incidents. Assist with third-party claims administration and coordinate special events involving traffic control. Comply with federal, provincial, and local legal requirements while maintaining a zero-harm safety culture.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 2 + years' work experience in highway maintenance operations, freeway traffic control and incidents/accidents management
- Valid Class DZ driver's license
- Good driving record
- OTM BOOK 7 certification
- Ability to manage workload independently

- Ability to conduct follow through investigation on all fatalities to determine if facilities contributed to the accident
- Ability to track and maintain files on all major incidents and accidents involving assets, personnel and equipment within contract limitation
- Ability to assist with the administration of third party claims by gathering documentation, paperwork and other relevant information
- Ability to coordinate special events involving traffic control, detours and/or closures
- Ability to comply with federal, provincial and local legal requirements
