Job Summary
Assist the foreman and skilled craft workers in performing assigned duties under close supervision. Dig, spread, and level dirt, sand, and gravel using hand tools. Lift, carry, and hold construction materials, tools, and supplies. Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work areas. Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials. Join, wrap, and seal sections of pipe. Perform routine non-machine tasks such as removing forms, filling excavations, and placing pipe sections. Execute machine tasks including tapping soil, jack hammering, and assisting in the fusing of pipe. Comply with all safety policies and procedures while reporting unsafe activities. Provide leadership through example and knowledge sharing. Requires three or more years of related construction experience and heavy physical activity in outdoor conditions with exposure to changing weather.
Required Qualifications
- three or more years related construction experience preferred
- ELIGIBILITY FOR EMPLOYMENT IN THE UNITED STATES
- pass a drug screen
- pass a medical exam
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures
- Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
- Knowledgeable about and follow the company's safety policies and procedures as described in the company's safety manual
