Job Summary
Assist Foreman and skilled craft workers in performing assigned duties under close supervision. Dig, spread, and level dirt, sand, and gravel using hand tools. Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials. Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work areas. Join, wrap, and seal sections of pipe. Perform routine non-machine tasks such as removing forms, filling excavations, and placing pipe sections. Execute machine tasks including tapping soil, jack hammering, and assisting in pipe fusing. Comply with all safety policies and procedures while reporting unsafe activities. Provide leadership through example and knowledge sharing. Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental goals. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures
- Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Knowledgeable about and follow the company's safety policies and procedures as described in the company's safety manual
- ELIGIBILITY FOR EMPLOYMENT IN THE UNITED STATES
- Legally eligible to work in the United States of America
- Complete and pass a drug screen
- Complete and pass a medical exam
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers
- Ability to perceive attributes of objects and materials
Desired Qualifications
- three or more years related construction experience
