Job Summary
Web Development Manager leads and mentors a globally distributed web development team focused on Webflow and WordPress capabilities. You will define and drive the web development roadmap, evaluate new tools, implement automations, and ensure pixel-perfect Webflow sites, complex migrations, SEO, accessibility, and performance across multiple projects. Responsibilities include strategy and planning, execution and development of sites, code reviews and mentorship, cross-time-zone coordination, multi-project management, QA, and collaboration with design, marketing, and product teams. Requires 8+ years of web development (4+ in management), strong leadership, remote-management experience, deep knowledge of Webflow/WordPress, migrations, front-end technologies, automation, and excellent communication.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of web development experience with 4+ years in a management role
- Experience leading and mentoring developers
- Experience managing remote, globally-dispersed teams across time zones
- Expert-level proficiency in Webflow & WordPress development and administration
- Extensive experience with complex website migrations (platform migrations, domain transfers, content restructuring)
- Strong command of web design principles, UX best practices, and SEO fundamentals
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design
- Ability to build and implement automations (Zapier, Make, custom scripts, API integrations)
- Strong project management skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Startup & agency experience; ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Ability to move quickly without sacrificing quality
- Experience scaling web infrastructure and processes
- Local to the Chicagoland area or proximate with the ability to travel for in-person workshops
- Native-level English fluency (written and verbal)
- Portfolio showcasing work with Figma, Webflow, and WordPress
