Job Summary
Build, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, themes, plugins, and templates using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Develop conversion-focused landing pages and lead-capture experiences in partnership with marketing and admissions. Own technical SEO, including site architecture, crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, and structured data markup to enhance rich results. Optimize properties for AI-driven search surfaces like Google AI Overviews and LLM answer engines by structuring content and entities for accurate citation. Manage site performance, uptime, security, updates, and backups while implementing analytics, tag management, and conversion tracking with GA4 and Google Tag Manager. Use data and A/B testing to continuously improve site performance and collaboration with IT, admissions, and external agency partners to deliver web initiatives on time.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in web development, computer science, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 3+ years of hands-on web development experience with deep, demonstrable WordPress expertise (themes, plugins, and custom development)
- Proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, with experience building responsive, accessible websites
- Demonstrated ownership of technical SEO, including site architecture, Core Web Vitals, structured data/schema, and Search Console diagnostics
- Working knowledge of AI Optimization (AIO) / generative search optimization and how AI Overviews and LLM answer engines surface content
- Experience with analytics and tracking tools such as GA4, Google Tag Manager, and Google Search Console
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative marketing environment
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate marketing goals into technical execution
