Job Summary
Web Developer/Application Programmer to support AFIT by designing, developing, and maintaining web applications for admissions, curriculum management, student and faculty records, and reporting. Responsibilities include maintaining content and templates, building features using HTML/JavaScript/CSS/SQL/Oracle tools, supporting database structures, gathering requirements, providing user training and documentation, testing and debugging, ensuring accessibility (Section 508), and delivering weekday support during normal business hours. Must work with customers to translate business needs into technical solutions and support applications throughout the development lifecycle. Relevant skills include front-end and back-end development, Oracle/PL-SQL, Bootstrap, ColdFusion, and familiarity with DoD or federal government environments.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active Secret security clearance
- CompTIA Security+ certification or ability to obtain within required contract timeframe
- 1–3 years of web development or related technical experience
- Experience developing web applications using HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, and a modern JavaScript library (e.g., jQuery)
- Ability to support database-driven applications and troubleshoot data-related issues
- Ability to create and maintain technical, user, and process documentation
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication with technical staff, end users, customers, and government stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, mission-focused team
