Job Summary
Weatherization Worker- Trainee/I/II conducts weatherization repairs and energy-efficiency improvement tasks in private homes across Kings County under supervision. Duties include weather stripping, repairing/replacing windows and doors, glazing, glass replacement, caulking exterior/interior cracks, installing low-flow shower heads, duct wrapping and water heater blankets, installing/repairing evaporative cooling units and thermostats, drywall repair, and maintaining tools and safety practices (PPE). Lead crew responsibilities appear at Level II, including training and technical assistance to crew, paperwork management, daily activity planning, and serving as the client contact in homes. Must adhere to safety guidelines and program requirements; travel to jobs as needed; flexible hours. Certifications required: OSHA 10, Basic Weatherization Training, Combustion Appliance Training, Duct & Shell Training, Lead Safe Renovator Training. Level I/II also require ability to lead a crew and meet state/county/funder requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Level Trainee: High school diploma (or equivalent); One year work experience in weatherization or similar program (preferred).
- Level I: High School Diploma (or equivalent); Minimum of one (1) year weatherization/construction related experience; Successful completion of all required training and certifications.
- Level II: High school diploma (or equivalent); Minimum of two (2) years weatherization/construction related experience; Successful completion of all required training and certifications.
- Certifications required: OSHA 10 Training; Basic Weatherization Training; Combustion Appliance Training; Duct & Shell Training; Lead Safe Renovator Training.
