Job Summary
Weapons Systems Engineer, Lead responsible for translating real-world needs into technical specifications, leading systems engineering activities, and shaping how to integrate complex weapon systems. Lead and mentor teams, oversight across weapons integration, testing, and certification to equip the warfighter with next-generation capabilities. Engage in DoD acquisition processes, system program office operations, and aircraft architecture knowledge while ensuring mission-focused engineering solutions and strong communication within cross-functional teams. Requires 10+ years of engineering experience with DoD/Air Force, active security clearances (Secret/Top Secret), and a bachelor’s degree in engineering; master’s degree preferred. Work model may involve on-site collaboration at Booz Allen facilities or customer sites, with potential hybrid or remote considerations as determined by project needs.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience as an engineer supporting the Air Force or DoD
- Experience with requirements documentation, Systems Engineering events, Configuration Control Boards, Airworthiness, integration, testing, and Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness and fielding recommendations
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software
- Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes, system program office operations, and weapon system and support organizations
- Knowledge of Aircraft Architecture
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Secret clearance
- Top Secret clearance
- Master's degree (nice to have)
