Wean-to-Finish Marketing Specialist - Pocahontas, IA

Job Summary
Conduct routine site visits to identify ideal market hogs, forecast selections, and ensure loading accuracy according to ISF protocols. Execute marketing strategies to maximize average weights, minimize sort loss, and meet economic goals while developing plans by site. Communicate cross-functionally on issues, manage supply logistics, and work with the transportation department to reschedule loads for optimal targets. Monitor pig health, coordinate with veterinarians, and assist in euthanasia processes per safety and biosecurity standards. Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 75 pounds and navigating livestock trailers. Travel regularly using a company vehicle, with occasional evening and weekend availability. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred; previous swine production experience desired.
Required Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, with fluency in both written and verbal communication
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to climb in and out of livestock trailers that can be as short as 48 inches in height
- Attendance is critical
- Be at work on scheduled days
- Be ready to walk into barns by start time given
- Adhere to Iowa Select Farms bio-security policy
- Adhere to Iowa Select Farms animal wellbeing policy
- Compliance with Iowa Select Farms safety policies and procedures
- To maintain biosecurity standards, employees working on a farm are prohibited from cohabitating with employees from other production departments or support teams that access farms other than those assigned to their department
- This is an on-site position requiring all daily job duties to be performed in person at designated Iowa Select Farms locations
- This is a full-time position that will require a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Expected days and hours of operation include day-shift hours Monday-Fridays
- Occasional evening hours and weekend work may be required as job duties demand
- Additional availability may be required during staffing challenges
- Regular travel will be required for this position which entails the utilization of a company vehicle
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, with fluency in both written and verbal communication is preferred
- Previous experience in swine production operations is desired
