Job Summary
The Wealth Navigator provides counseling for wealth-building activities including money management, budgeting, debt reduction, credit establishment/improvement, safe banking access, savings building, and home buyer education referrals. Conducts HUD-approved Home Buyer Education workshops and related training programs. Delivers individual and group financial coaching (in person, phone, or online), conducts intake assessments, reviews credit reports, assists with dispute and settlement letters, develops Financial Action Plans, and maintains client data in CounselorMax. Produces weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance/outcome reports, ensures program compliance, and supports service delivery across HUD standards. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and several years of housing counseling/financial education experience; HUD certification preferred with ability to obtain additional certifications; proficient in MS 365 and videoconferencing tools; strong communication and customer service skills; able to work with diverse clients and travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Financial Capability, Human Services or other related field of study required
- Three to five years of experience in housing counseling, knowledge of the financial sector (banking, mortgage) and/or human services
- Minimum three years of relevant work experience with some background in financial education, counseling/teaching, coaching, or social services delivery
- Preferred HUD certification, however if selected applicant has three (3) months and/or two attempts to complete the HUD Certified Housing Counselor certification
- Willingness and ability to obtain other certifications as necessary
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (MS Suite, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.)
- Experience with videoconferencing systems (e.g., Webex, Zoom, Teams)
- Strong communication skills (read, write, and speak English proficiently)
- Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Regular weekend/evening commitments not required; standard schedule Mon-Fri 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with extended hours as needed
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds and travel to different work sites as needed
