Job Summary
VP-level Wealth Management Tax Compliance Officer responsible for IRS compliance, withholding and reporting for ultra-high net worth clients, leading tax-technical support, managing IRS communications, certifying IRS 1220 and state filings, advising on Chapter 4/3/61 rules, driving process automation, and training client-service teams. Will serve as direct point of contact for tax information, act as SME and decision-maker, and support technology projects from a tax advisory perspective.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in appropriate and transferrable field
- 5+ years of tax experience required
- Advanced familiarity with IRS tax documentation such as Form W-9, W-8BEN, W-8IMY and BEN-E, as well as associated withholding and reporting requirements
- Effective knowledge of IRS requirements (i.e., Revenue code sections and Treasury regulations), with a specific focus on information reporting and withholding
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including presentation) and influencing capabilities
- Highly organized and detail oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with demonstrated ability to simplify complex subject matter into digestible executive communications
- Work towards an advanced degree in a tax-related field. Enrolled agent or similar IRS registration
- Prior position in banking, specifically supporting ultra-high net worth client base, including interacting with Front Office, and drafting of client communications and messaging
- Exposure to automation software, including Alteryx, Tableau, and others
- Indirect or direct leadership experience with small teams. Experience coordinating projects across teams
- Experience with K-1 partnership reporting and alternatives products
