Job Summary
Wealth Management Lending Officer responsible for developing and maintaining a network to generate mortgage lending referrals for Bank of America Merrill Financial Advisors. Key duties include prospecting clients, interviewing borrowers, determining financing objectives, advising on product/pricing policies, negotiating lending terms, and guiding clients through loan approval and closing. Must maintain regulatory and compliance standards (SAFE Act registration) and stay current on lending programs, policies, and real estate regulations. Strong emphasis on building and maintaining client relationships, advising on wealth-management products, and driving referrals. Requires significant experience in mortgage origination, credit solutions, and delivering high-quality client service within an in-office culture with role-specific attendance expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of experience in a loan origination role with significant experience working with ultra-high net worth and affluent client base
- Demonstrated success in prospecting, generating leads, closing business and consistently meeting/exceeding production goals
- Strong background in the credit solutions, ranging from standard to custom mortgage products and other securities-based lending
- Experience building relationships with clients
- Understanding of processing, underwriting and/or closing procedures
- Working knowledge of federal regulations governing real estate lending
- Strong communicator, both verbally and in writing
- Self-motivated and highly organized
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field
- Internal employees who are currently working from home are still eligible to apply; may be required to work onsite according to policy
Additional Requirements
- SAFE Act registration required for residential mortgage loan originations
- Series 7 and 63 licensing is not required but may be maintained permissively
- Location-based onsite requirements depending on workplace policy
