Job Summary
Quantitative Research Analyst in the Portfolio Analytics group within the CIO Team (Wealth Management) to build and maintain models for asset allocation, portfolio construction, risk management, and performance attribution. Responsibilities include developing Python-based models, managing datasets, researching and running risk models for multi-asset portfolios, applying statistical and machine learning techniques to investment research, documenting and validating models, and collaborating with portfolio managers, product managers, and Technology to communicate findings and actionable insights.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience on an investment team in an asset management firm
- Advanced programming skills in Python, including experience with data analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy)
- Proficiency in statistical analysis, econometrics, machine learning, and/or AI techniques
- Understanding of performance attribution techniques
- CFA designation or demonstrated progress toward CFA designation
- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to explain quantitative concepts to non-quant colleagues
- Deep understanding of equity and fixed income markets; knowledge of alternatives and private markets
- Experience applying risk models for portfolio management and portfolio construction (e.g., Barra, Axioma, PORT)
- Ability to operate effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment
