Job Summary
WCR Portfolio Analytics- Associate within Wholesale CRE Portfolio Analytics responsible for researching and evaluating CRE market trends and their impact on a >$200B portfolio. Develops data-driven insights to assess loan performance and credit risk across property types, analyzes CRE data (portfolio concentrations, client/property financials, appraisal, macro-economic data, and market trends), and supports development of analytical frameworks. Utilizes Python and SQL to manage large datasets, performs backtesting and portfolio analytics, and collaborates with modeling teams for CRE grading model back-testing. Optional exposure to large language model (LLM) techniques to synthesize information into comprehensive reports. Works with senior stakeholders to monitor risk segmentation and identify top risks. Strong emphasis on Excel/PowerPoint and data visualization tools (Tableau, QlikSense) and fostering collaborative relationships across internal partners.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related fields
- Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related fields
- 3-5 years of Wholesale Credit Risk management experience (market analysis, economic research, trend analysis, forecasting, statistical analysis, etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
- Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to develop proficiency in dashboard, mapping, and data visualization software (i.e. Tableau, QlikSense)
- Relevant work experience in software, programming or coding such as Alteryx, Python or SQL
- Desire to use modern technologies as a disruptive influence within banking
- Attentive to detail and easily adaptable
- Enthusiastic about knowledge sharing and collaboration
- Strong interpersonal skills – you listen and communicate in a direct, succinct manner
- Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships with key internal partners to achieve objectives and prioritizations
